Hey guys, great site. Its my first time here and I just spent the last hour or so giving my students busy work while catching up on all the lists.
However, I have a bone to pick... What is the criteria for guilty pleasures? My thinking is that it is a band/artist that you are sorta embarrassed that you enjoy. Is that right?
If so, how can you have Tom Waits, Rage or MeWithoutYou on that list? There is absolutely no shame in enjoying three ridiculously creative bands/artists.
I think a great example of a guilty pleasure would be Blink 182's "Dude Ranch." It's sorta embarrassing that Brittany likes that record, but she still does.
Also, Bennett, it seems like you and I have many similar formative albums... I still listen to most of those, and I hope you do to.
Thanks, Lewis!
You're right on with the Guilty Pleasures. I just don't think many people can still really get into that stuff (I've gotten shit for the Waits and mwY) and I feel like I'm going back to jr high with the Rage (which is embarrassing enough).
Feel free to post your own up. The more the merrier!
